Notes

Allow the ham to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps it cook more evenly. Patting the ham dry with paper towels before applying the glaze ensures better adherence.
Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the ham. Insert it into the thickest part of the meat, avoiding contact with the bone. Remove the ham from the oven when it reaches 140°F (60°C).
Allow the ham to rest tented with foil after removing it from the oven. This step helps the juices redistribute, resulting in a juicier and more flavorful ham when sliced.
Feel free to tailor the sweetness of the glaze to your liking. If you prefer a sweeter ham, you can increase the honey and brown sugar slightly.

Ham for Christmas Eve dinner! It was amazing! I loved the recipe as much as learning the technique for not drying out the ham and building the flavor with basting that amazing glaze. It was the most beautiful ham! I will always use this recipe and/or technique from now on! Thank you!

Made this Christmas dinner and it was a hit. Recipe calls for cloves but is in part of the glaze instructions. A beginner cook would not think to add it to the glaze even if not in the instructions.

  5. In the video, you used onion slices at the bottom of the pan, but i dont see it listed as an ingredient. Will it make a difference if its used or not?

    1. sometimes I add stuff in the videos to test it out but I try to keep the recipes simple. when the ingredients don’t make a big difference in the flavor I tend to omit
